Liberty and Geekery - a Glimpse of Things to Come.

Posted in

When I started this blog I assumed that I would be writing a mostly geek blog with a smattering of articles here and there about politics. Well the last 2 years of sporadic writing has proven that I had that upside down. Its not that the geek topics do not interest me, I am all for a good RPG or zombie fest, and would love to play with the latest gadgets, its just that those items rarely inspire me to put fingers to keyboard.

Tax Day Tea Parties

Thousands of American's across the country are preparing to participate in next week's Tax Day Tea Parties.  So far there are about 450 schedule, and more than likely there is one near you.  If your tired of the government representing special interests rather than the interests of their constituents, or tired of the corporate bailouts and fed secrets, plan on attending next week.

Goodbye

If you are very lucky, you have a person in your life that is truly larger then life. Who is ready at the drop of a hat to kick ass and take names, and completely commit to tilting at any passing windmill which has raised his ire. If you are really lucky, you gamed with him weekly and got to tag along for the ride.

My friend Mike was an gamer, navy seal, crusader for liberty, crude, romantic, quick with a laugh or a punch. Despite having been shot in the head more then once, he still had a memory which put mine to shame.

Personal Jet

Swiss jet pilot Yves Rossy has successfully piloted his 4 engine personal jet wind across the English channel today. An incredible feat, and a worthy of a geek'asm.

Happy Holidays from the Heretic. Remember that this is a day of hope, of potentials and of joy. Remember also that there are many out there less fortunate then you, and do your best to teach them to fish.

9/11 - A Toast to Absent Companions

Donna its been six years since we last talked about Disney, or your son.

Bill I wish I had known you liked My Blue Heaven and model trains before you went, it would have made that business trip to Iowa so much more fun.

Sandy you seemed such a gentle happy guy. Always on the edge of the crowd with a smile never quite fitting in.

There are many others but these three are the folks who I worked closest with in the WTC and will always be the face of 9/11 for me.
